Today is Friday and if you have ten tickets you can ether get prizes or you can pay ten tickets to play in centers. We have teams and the winning team doesn’t have to pay tickets to play free centers. But if they have 10 tickets they can get a prize. Today we made witches brew. We got to eat it while we wrote about it.

On the 31st you get to wear your costume.You don’t have to wear your costume. We all like Halloween days. We get a lot of candy. We go to different homes and places. I see all of my friends. October is my favorite month of the year.Today we got to play Chinese Checkers in centers and do computers and I Pads. We are reading about how to deal with bullies. Our class made a class book about vivid verbs.

On fun Friday, whoever has ten tickets, they get to go to a free center and that is Ipads,computers or math centers. Or you can get a prize. The class likes math centers and the class likes to go outside. The class likes Black Lagoon books. They love them.

This has been such a fun, fast year! My class has been amazing! The last few days of school we designed, decorated and flew paper airplanes. Zachary’s airplane flew a whopping 46 feet and came in first place. Dylan’s flew 30 feet and Cheyenne’s flew 27 feet. Alexis’s got the prize for the best decorated. We also did bug mazes where our electric bug had to work it’s way through a maze of blocks across a long table without falling off. Sterling made the most innovative maze but all of the students got a prize for this activity. Dylan beat me over and over in farkle. It’s a dice game and if you don’t know how to play, you should learn this summer and play it with your child. It’s a great math game of chance and strategies.

I also wanted to give a special thanks to Danielle Early for being such a wonderful room mother. Read, write, play games with your children. They grow up too fast! I wish that you all have a fun, safe summer.

We`re doing a show (Champs Assembly) on honesty on 4-13-12. At technology we are going to research states(U.S.). I`m doing New Mexico. We`re reading Eric Carle books. We`ve read, The Very Grouchy Ladybug and The Very Busy Spider. Did you know that Mrs.Corbell got a Ipad 2? Well got to go. Bye!!!

Our class has been so busy! Monday was our 100th day of school. This is also our “Dental Health” week and today was Ground Hog Day! I will be posting pictures of our 100th day of school. We did 100 day activities all day. Today we celebrated Ground Hog Day by watching “Phil” being pulled out of his warm home. He did see his shadow, so 6 more weeks of winter. We also put boiled eggs in cups of coke and coffee. The students were amazed at how brown coke and coffee will make your teeth. Next, we brushed our eggs with toothpaste. They still turned white, but I think your kids are not going to want to drink cokes or coffee for a while.

We have been writing summaries about Patriica Polacco. We colored a treasure chest so we can put our stories in it. We also made a toy about Babushka’s doll and we hung them outside . Also we are learning a about the weather cycle. We put water in a cup and measured how much it evaporated and today we are putting ice in a glass and watching condensation form on the outside of the glass. We did a coloring contest and it was Mrs. Koonce birthday yesterday. We wrote her birthday cards.

Today we read, The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters.
It is very funny! There is Goldilocks and the Three Bears
and Humpty Dumpty. We are also working on how to write letters.
