We have been talking about Eric Carl, yesterday we read Walter the Baker. It is about a man who makes rolls and brings them to Duchess, a queen and a king named Duke. They were queen and king. Every day Walter would bring a roll to their kingdom. They liked it so much they told him to bake one every day. One day Walter was baking rolls and the cat found a mouse and the cat ran to catch it but then the cat tipped the can of milk over. Now he can not make sweet rolls without fresh milk. He tried to make it and he brought some to the queen and king they did not like it so he went to make something new. A pretzel! He took it to the queen and king they said,” What is this?” Walter said,”Ah pretzel.” They loved it and they never ate rolls again as i said we are reading Eric Carl and we have a reading log that if you read a lot then you get tickets. You write your first name and last name on the back and I hear that we get a bicycle if your name gets drawn.

Today we did an experiment with eggs. We put one egg in coke, one in coffee and one in tea. We put the eggs in the drinks before lunch and took them out after lunch. The egg that was in the tea was the cleanest. The egg that was in the coke was kind of clean and the one in the coffee was dirty. Mrs Corbell brushed the coffee egg with toothpaste and the egg was a little clean. Then she brushed the tea egg and she brushed a little bit of it off. We are going to make sure that we brush our teeth everyday now!

Today is our 100 day of school. We are making 100 day hats and doing 100 day centers. My favorite center is making something out of 100 Popsicle sticks. We have new toys for our playground. Monday we get to play on the playground with all of the new stuff. On Feb. 14th we get to have our Valentine’s party!

Yesterday we starting reading about Patricia Polacco. She writes awesome books. This Friday the golden fork award will given to a class.

Next week is our Red Ribbon Week. On Monday, October 29th we are going to sock it to drugs! Wear crazy socks. On Tues. wear a cap or hat to use your head and don’t do drugs. Wednesday, spook out drugs and wear a Halloween costume. No masks or handheld props allowed. Thursday wear sunglasses to shade out drugs. Friday, wear maroon and white for White Oak pride day. Friday is also an early release day so that parents can take their child to the pep rally at the football stadium. We will dismiss at 1:30 on Friday, November the 2nd.
